Whether you choose to work with us for a short meeting, or a multi-day retreat, bringing Rosalee on board means:

  • Your project and team leaders can fully participate and bring their wisdom, concerns, and strategic vision to the issue at hand, without worrying about timing, hosting, or having to stay completely “neutral”;
  • Meeting objectives are super clear and always met, so work together feels purposeful, energizing, and effective;
  • We handle difference skillfully, and attend to power and positionality so groups can move through tension towards solutions;
  • Your group leaves more energized, with improved connections and sustainable agreements for stronger future collaboration, and authentic, grounded ideas for moving forward.

Why Hire a Professional Facilitator?

OUR PROCESS

Begins during our first 25-minute complimentary discovery call, and continues with an initial planning call once we have decided to work together. In this phase, we work together to clarify meeting goals, scope (including timing), audience, and important context.

Four phases of working with us:

Based on our Discovery phase, Rosalee returns with detailed draft agenda(s) with specific recommendations for activities, approaches, technologies, and plans for harvesting information, tailored to your goals, and group. We typically do one round of feedback and edits on the agenda in advance of actual delivery.* Rosalee develops any necessary materials (slides, worksheets, other technologies), drawing on our deep well of experience, and clarifies any specific materials, room-set up, snacks, or other considerations to make for a successful event.

Rosalee and team facilitate your gathering, including adjusting the agenda as necessary to meet the agreed-upon goals and addressing any unforeseen issues and dynamics that arise. We harvest relevant content from the meeting. Typically our clients decide to organize their own event logistics (room set-up, food, etc.) taking our advice into consideration, though we have options to support with this as well*.

After the session, Rosalee shares all harvested materials and is available for additional strategy advising, as necessary or desired.

  • support for more equitable, community-accountable, trust-based grantmaking
  • technical assistance with grantwriting
  • policy advising around education and workforce development, particularly for BIPOC and immigrant communities

Testimonials

“Heddy provided an immense knowledge of Los Angeles' education and workforce systems. Her ability to synthesize data and information about these systems and provide context as it related to our project was vital in bringing together partners who were largely unfamiliar with the work. With Heddy's support, we were able to develop plans for the region to better align education and careers for the benefit of students in Los Angeles.”

Director, Postsecondary Strategy & Policy, UNITE-LA

Adam Gottlieb

“Heddy provided incredible insight on how to ensure that our community-driven, racial equity project concept was framed effectively for federal funding approval. Given her deep experience in the field, she was able to rapidly understand our needs and help formulate an appropriate and effective response to the challenge at hand. She was clearly aligned with our organizational values and able to provide critical assistance in helping us secure $2M from the Federal Forest Service to support our work to increase the tree canopy in neighborhoods in heat zones.”
